International youth exchanges
Proxima Sociale continued with international youth exchange programs in 2014. Our staff together with our clients took part in summer stay in Germany. Together with children from Jugendclub Burgwedel they spent ten days in Hamburg and in a camp nearby city of Scharbeutz by the Baltic Sea. The project was implemented in cooperation with Czech-German Youth Exchange Coordination Centre, “Tandem”, with the support from Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports CR.
Proxima Sociale staff, together with colleagues from four other organizations from the Czech Republic, had the opportunity to participate in a project called “Using the international experience for improving the employability of youth endangered by unemployment”. Graduate Managers Association (AMA) implemented the project and organized study visits to share best practice in four countries –Estonia, Slovakia, Sweden and Portugal.
A two-day international conference closed the project in September 2014. At the event we presented all the innovations we gathered during the visits abroad and later applied in the work for our organization.
Our staff participated in making of two methodical brochures as well as outputs of the projects:
- Using the international experience for improving the employability of youth endangered by unemployment
- Let´s not fear innovations – innovated module specific program
As a part of the above project we prepared a training seminar called “Support for social work with endangered children and youth with the focus on training in job skills”. Students of Vara folkhögskola educational center from Västragötalands region in Sweden attended the seminar. Together we visited Garáž club where the participants were introduced to our work with adolescent youth, and Restart Shop which is operated by Czech Streetwork Association, p.b.c. (ČAS) and National Training Fund, p.b.c. (NVF). The shop offers training jobs to young people in difficult life situation.
